We want all pupils at St John's Catholic Primary School to have a love of reading from the very first day they set foot in our school.

Reading opens up a world of wonderful possibilities, adventure, information and imagination. As can be seen below, our pupils independently select books to read during their own time so that they can continue to immerse themselves in their own interests and fictional worlds.

During the Summer Holidays, please try to find as many different opportunities to share books with your child as your can - listening to stories being read to them will support their vocabulary development, their intonation when telling their own stories and feed their curious minds for make believe and adventure as well as the opportunity to learn new facts and information. 

Our Class 1 team and Mrs Snaith can't wait to hear all about the books that have been shared when school starts in September!
